The ASOS SS15 Press Launch collection absolutely killed it- for women AND for men!! Not that I expected it to be anything less (I’m a huge ASOS fan and extremely lucky to work with them!) but I was more than impressed with this cheeky little preview.
Sooo what should you expect to hit the site over the next few months? Ladies first…
All that glitters, shimmers, shines and glimmers! Think iridescence, sequins, embellishment and heavy glitter. Party season, here we come! From fully embellished dresses to sparkly unicorn bags, SS15 is all about making an impression.
If, like me, you’re not usually a glitzy girl, then not to worry because ASOS have this covered too. Their ‘Bang Bang’ trend is a little more toned down. Black being the core colour with tassels and snakeskin adding a little more excitement. I’m especially loving the cut-out, lace-up boot heels shown below. Bang bang, indeed.
My personal faves from the preview were the glitter socks with sequin embellishment. Yes, sequin embellishment on socks. Who’d have thought… Obviously I’ll be wearing mine with slides and to no surprise, ASOS had that covered too. Flatform and platform sliders and more sporty flat leather ones, which might be a tad more practical! In fact, I have to say that shoes were a particularly strong category, which may cause some problems for my upcoming wages.
The men’s collection saw strong shoe game too- leather slides like the women’s, plimsolls and brogues. All in black or white, which was a huge theme across most of the SS15 collection with texture doing most of the talking. Sounds slightly boring but I can assure you that it’ll be far from. Leather, fishnet, mesh and fabrics that I have no idea what to call them, all made an appearance. The range was also heavily influenced by sports- woohoo! Sweatpants, shorts and relaxed tees smartened up with statement jackets.
I wanted to steal the black fishnet bomber for myself and I’m sure that it will be quick to sell when it hits the site.
Not sure if you’re a fan of the bucket hat guys, but if so, you know where to head (ASOS…). I’m not too keen on socks, slides, shorts and bucket hats all together, but I’m sure some of you strapping young men will prove me wrong.
Overall, ASOS are going to be giving other high street retailers a run for their money this season. With the variety of product on ASOS there really is something for every fashion-conscious guy or girl.
Keep watching ASOS for these SS15 goodies to drop. If you’re not familiar with the site I recommend checking the New In page for all the fresh styles. Happy Shopping! xx
