It’s the start of a new month and we’re edging slightly closer towards spring (yipppee!), which means that brighter, lighter days are ahead. If you ask me, this is the perfect time to kick your butt into action. Stop saying, start doing. You might just be surprised by how much you can achieve by summer and let’s face it…
Unless you throw yourself into a situation, you will never know what could be.
My throwing started just before Christmas. I bit the bullet and quit my secure head office job with one of the industry’s biggest retailers to pursue my blogging and modelling career full time. A mighty risk and I’m still getting there, but do I have any regrets? No. I’m not saying it has been or will be a smooth ride, but it’s what I want from life and I think it’s worth the risk. As today’s quote suggests, you will never know if it will work out unless you give it a good try. That’s exactly what I’m doing and what you are able to do too!
It might not be as extreme as quitting your job but if it gets you achieving and is something that you may regret it if not, then why not give it a go! This week is all about doing, so start putting those dreams into motion. What are you waiting for? xx
If you’re a keen runner (or even just fancy yourself as one) looking for ultimate comfort and the best in running technology, then New Balance have just launched the shoe for you. Created from extensive studies with a select group of runners, the Fresh Foam 1080 knows exactly what you need to get you from A to B, no matter how far that may be! I was lucky enough to bag an invite to the launch event and try out the shoe for myself…
Led by British long distance runner Nick McCormick and joined by 2016 Olympian Kate Avery and professional 800m runner Guy Learmonth, we were first briefed on the trainer before taking part in a quick Q&A with the athletes. As usual, everyone was eager to put the shoes to the test, so we took to the streets of London to do just that. I was not disappointed.
Kitted out head to toe in New Balance with our own pair of Fresh Foam 1080’s (orange for the girls and black for the boys) we stopped off for an essential warm up before getting to business! The view of the Thames helped take away from my heavy breathing, the weather was on our side and although trying to keep up with the pros, I have to say that my feet had no complaints at all! Before long, it was time to make our way back to base where we were greeted with Fresh Foam trampolinists, fruit platters and smoothies. A successful afternoon and most left with the Fresh Foam 1080s still firmly on their feet!
Designed with the aim of making your run as smooth as possible, the New Balance Fresh Foam 1080 has a one piece fresh foam mid-sole allowing a continuously smooth ride without interference, while cleverly ensuring that flex is not lost. Created through a vast amount of research, including close analysis of a select group of runners, the shoe provides maximum comfort and support for the majority of foot shapes. While the special design accommodates a variety of instep heights, the engineered mesh in the vamp not only adds that premium feel to the trainer but also gives room for natural toe splay as the miles clock up!
All in all, the shoe looks to take care of your feet from top to bottom, 360 degrees. A lot of love and attention has been put into creating this new addition to New Balance’s performance range, all of which is to be given back to your feet.
It’s the start of a new week and each day really is what you make of it. There’s going to be ups and there’s going to be downs, but your attitude will define how each moment plays out. This week’s quote is all about making the most of life even when the downs hit you hard. It’s about not letting the negatives prevent then positives and about seeing the light in every situation. It reads…
Don’t wait for the storm to pass, learn to dance in the rain.
It’s not always easy, but I assure you that it’s worth it. So next time the clouds roll in, get out your dancing shoes and show the world your moves. xx
The most common question that I get asked is what I do to work out, so it only makes sense that I start showing you guys right here! Here’s a cheeky little insight into some of the exercises that I use to help work my tummy… Don’t forget to keep your abs tight and make sure all movement is being driven from them. I’m definitely going to make this a regular feature, however if there’s anything particular that you would like to see (bum, legs, arms or more tum?) then let me know below and I’ll get filming! Happy toning! x
P.S. Abs are built 80% on diet, so if you’re not seeing results it’s probably time to look at what you’re eating.
It’s back! The Yummy Snack Alert feature has returned to keep you on track to eat healthily throughout the day, even when those mid afternoon cravings kick in!
This one’s particularly great for that post-gym fix. Packed with protein and nutrients, Bounce Energy Balls are perfect for providing your body with the goodness it needs to go straight to your muscles after exercise (to put you on until you can have proper meal) or even before your workout for that last minute snack. They help to satisfy hunger, sustain energy and they’re super tasty!
A healthy and convenient way to keep you going throughout the day and an amazing way to top up on protein, they’re stocked in many retailers such as Whole Foods, Boots, Waitrose and Tesco to name a few. See which flavour you fancy right here (I like the Cocao Mint best). Enjoy xx
There it is- today’s quote of the week. This one I find particularly empowering; a quote of true self-respect and integrity.
Whether it’s in love, the workplace, with friends or self-inflicted, ensure that you’re not settling for less than you deserve- or putting up with more than you should. Abide by this forever and always and you might just find yourself climbing that ladder much more quickly than expected.
It’s important to love others but it’s also important to love yourself, be yourself and most of all, know your worth.
It’s Valentines weekend, which means you’re likely to be doing one of the next few options… Being treated by a loved one, celebrating singleness either alone or with friends, or drowning your sorrows whilst watching chick flicks and stuffing your face with chocolate (I recommend Bridget Jones for that real I-don’t-need-a-man feeling). Whichever option ticks your box, it’s likely that there’s going to be some naughty little treats involved at some point. Eh hum, I’m talking about the food and drink kind…
Well, whether you’re treating yourself or a loved one- or simply opting for Bridget- I’ve got five little tips on how to keep your day healthy, but still delicious!
Dark Chocolate Covered Strawberries
I won’t deprive you of chocolate, but dark is the best. Even better if you can top up on one of your five a day whilst you’re at it.
Heart Shaped Eggs
Just buy one of these cheeky little devices (I got mine at Paperchase) and taadahh, your eggs are transformed. The perfect breakfast in bed surprise. Serve with avo on brown toast with a nice big smoothie!
Go for a Run
On Valentines? Yes! Whether alone or with company, it’s the best way to get those endorphins active (that’s feel good chemicals produced by our body) so you’ll be feeling great all day, date or not.
Heart Shaped Fruit Pops
Looks good, tastes sweet. What’s not to like? Try freezing them if you’re a fan of ice lollies!
Invest in New Lingerie
It could either lead to some good old bedroom exercise or will make you feel fab! It’s not a fact, but from my personal opinion, the better we feel about our body the more we take care of it.
Single or taken, you deserve to give your body the care and love that it deserves on Valentines and beyond. Have a fab weekend guys! xx
