Health & Beauty Chit Chat on lovesian TV

Happy weekend, everyone! This week I’ve teamed up with Sian from lovesian TV to talk all things health and beauty. We’ll be chatting about gym do’s and don’ts, our number one way to keep healthy and lots of other health tips and tricks.

Sian is my favourite beauty blogger and best friend, so it only seemed right to collaborate (and about time too)! See what you think of our tips by clicking right here and don’t forget to get in touch for anything else that you might want to hear about.

Oh and by the way, there’s another vid coming from Sian and myself to my own YouTube channel on Monday with something a little bit different so watch out for that ūüėČ

Have a good one, guys xx

The Body Shop Tea Tree Facial Wash

I don’t particularly like to apply too many products to my face, as I believe that it’s best to let your skin breathe. I’m also very aware of the high amount of chemicals in most of these products, so feel it’s best to minimise this as much as possible- after all, anything that you apply to your skin and don’t wash off is absorbed.

Anyway, there’s only a few skincare items that I actually allow near my face and this is one of them… Tea Tree Facial Wash by The Body Shop. A refreshing organic tea tree based wash to open up your pores and remove impurities, leaving you with clearer skin. The item that I reach for first if I feel a blemish on it’s way.¬†I also use this as part of my everyday routine, as it’s gentle enough to use daily.

It is recommended for blemished skin however I’m actually lucky enough not to¬†suffer too much with outbreaks. I still find the wash perfect to awaken and freshen my face and if a spot does attempt to break loose, my Tea Tree Facial Wash usually does a very good job of keeping it away.¬†An amazing one for anybody suffering with acne, but I also recommend it all round!

See what The Body Shop have to say below…

Our Community Trade organic tea tree oil comes from The Kenya Organic Oil Farmers’ Association (KOOFA), a co-operative of over 550 small-scale organic farmers around Mount Kenya National Park. Our products contain only pure leaf essential oil, made with hand-harvested leaves and gently steam-distilled for an exceptional-quality purifying essential oil. The leaves are steam distilled within 12 hours of harvest, using a gentle heat to ensure a high quality tea tree oil. Our trade helps provide the smallholder farmers of KOOFA with a steady income, which means that they can develop sustainable farming systems and fund community projects in their local area (The Body Shop, 2016).

There’s no scrimping on quality, rated 5 stars online by users and priced at ¬£5.50 for a 250ml bottle, it’s actually a bit of a bargain. x

Lorna Jane Activewear

I am a teeny-weeny bit obsessed with activewear brand Lorna Jane; an Australian-born gymwear brand promoting ‘Active Living’. Similarly to Tigeress, they believe in fitness and health as a lifestyle, with an aim to empower women to lead such healthy lives. But it’s not only their vision that’s got me swooning. The clothes are ahhh-mazing too!

High quality, comfortable, super flattering¬†as well as looking great, there’s not really much more that you could ask for from your gym kit. There’s a range of styles and shapes to suit a variety of tastes and body sizes. My fave is the Cobra set,¬†as worn below. I’ve never had a sports bra fit quite like it- fully supportive whilst somehow managing to enhance my tiny assets. I felt both womanly and ready for business (a.k.a. my spin class) as soon as I stepped into it.

Now I haven’t tried every item from the collection and with so much to choose from I doubt that I ever will, however I’m impressed from what I’ve seen so far and am eager to purchase my next piece! You can shop the collection by clicking right here¬†and if you’re UK based you can always swing by the Covent Garden flagship store. Let me know what you think! xx

For anybody looking to loose weight and/or increase their fitness, I’ve designed a workout just for you! Created¬†to build up a sweat, get your heart pumping and most of all burn fat, this is my ultimate Fat Burning Workout and it launched on YouTube today.

See what’s in store in the short clip below or head over to YouTube- Kirby Akindeinde for the full routine.

P.S. It’s another no equipment workout that you can take with you anywhere and everywhere, so there are absolutely no excuses! ūüėČ

Vita Coco Coconut Oil

With holiday season in full swing, it’s vital that we keep our skin healthy and moisturised. Daily moisturising is key- I opt for day and¬†night- as well as plenty of water of course! But when it comes to layering my skin with the thirst-quenching good stuff, my number one go-to moisturiser is¬†Vita Coco Coconut Oil¬†and I am OBSESSED!

It’s not every day you can say that you can eat your moisturiser. Well with Vita Coco you can. It’s natural, raw¬†and¬†organic, meaning no nasty chemicals to get in the way. ¬†It’s¬†also cold pressed therefore packed with all of it’s original goodness. It will keep your skin soft, hydrated and is my now not-so-secret way of maintaining my holiday¬†glow throughout summer and beyond. Simply apply to your body (I would avoid adding to your face, as it’s a little… oily) wait to dry and you’re good to go. It’s especially great to wear before bed and if¬†you want to give your feet some TLC just layer up the coconut oil, slip on your socks and dream the night away. You’ll wake up feeling silky smooth!

Available in 500ml or 750ml tubs for £9.99 and £14.50 respectively. You only need to use a tiny amount so one tub can last months! x

Healthy Alcoholic Cocktails

Alcohol and health aren’t usually two words that sit well together. However, I’m all about balance and don’t think that we should miss out too much in order to be healthy! So, I took to the kitchen and designed these healthy cocktails (or as healthy as cocktails get) that are low in calories and are even packed with one of your five a day!

For the full recipe, step by step instructions (it’s really not that difficult) and my kitchen mishaps¬†click right here.¬†They’re delicious, refreshing and perfect for BBQ season! I hear this weekend is going to be a scorcher so why not give them a try! x

ÔĽŅHow I Keep Fit!

I’m going to let you in on a secret. OK, so for anyone who knows me well it’s not actually that much of a secret… However, it is a damn good tip on how to get fit and fast!

You’re looking to improve your fitness, maybe tone up a little, loose a few pounds? I bet the first thing that comes to mind for most people is running. It’s free, convenient and if stuck to, sure to tick all three of the above boxes. If it’s not running, it’s a class. Swimming? Home workout video? Sure, all of these can be effective but I prefer something a little less popular. Sprinting.

For some reason, sprinting isn’t one that springs to mind for many when looking to get fit and it absolutely baffles me as to why not. Yes, it falls into the oh-so-popular running category, but it takes things to a whole new level…

It’s quick. So for anybody short of time (who isn’t nowadays?!) there’s no excuse. It will get you’re heart rate up, increase fitness, speed, agility. Help to shed weight. Is a full body toner and can be a sure fire way to build a killer bum! It’s an answer to your fitness goals and more.

I may be bias. I grew up with an athletics background and speed was my speciality. But at the end of the day, if you’re not training for the Olympics or looking to start racing others anytime soon, it’s doesn’t actually matter how fast you are, as long as you run at your full pelt. Why not give it a try? Head to your local park and try sets of sprints at a comfortable distance for you. The recommended amount really depends upon your own fitness level but why not try two sets of three to start with and see how you get on.

Fit, toned you, here you come! x
