Saying Goodbye to 2016…

The final day of 2016 has arrived and hasn’t the year just flown by?! Some of us may have had the best year yet, while others might be glad to leave it behind. For me, it consisted of a lot of change. I quit my full-time office job to embark on a whole new career, welcomed amazing new people into my life and said some very difficult goodbyes. It’s been quite the emotional roller-coaster, let’s put it that way. But whichever way your year has gone, there’s a brand new one ahead, giving us the perfect chance to set new goals and really make the most of our time in 2017.

A Christmas Consideration

‘Tis the season to be jolly, yet it’s not so simple for everybody.  I haven’t written a conscientious piece in  while, but I think it’s about time that I do.

Whilst we’re gathering with friends, knocking back Prosecco and blasting out Christmas songs, it might not be quite so merry and bright for others- whether they show it or not. Yes, it’s Christmas and yes, it’s supposed to be a time of happiness, love and joy, yet it’s not invincible. Amongst the celebrations, we can still suffer from grievance, heartbreak, loneliness, depression and the list goes on.

I saw an ad on the tube last week. It showed an old lady alone at Christmas with absolutely nobody around. Unable to make a festive call to a loved one, never mind somebody to pull a cracker with across the dinner table. An advert yes, but a very real one at that. It made me think. For some, Christmas is the most difficult time of the year no matter what their struggle. Of course, why wouldn’t it be? It’s a time that we’re supposed to be happy, we have to buy presents and if you don’t join in on the fun you’re an absolute scrooge.

Now I’m going to keep this post short and sweet, as it could get rather depressing and I really don’t want to inflict that on you first thing on a Monday. My point is that everybody has their own issues to deal with and they don’t just disappear because it’s Christmas. So don’t forget to smile and be kind. Do something good for somebody else if you can. You never know, it could make all the difference.

For those of you that are going through a tough time, I guess what I really just wanted to say is, keep you’re head up. What may not seem like ‘the most wonderful time of the year’ can be (or can be made better) if you come at it with the right attitude. Let heavy hearts rest, don’t be too hard on yourself and do something good for yourself and for somebody else. Plan how you can step away from your troubles and take action. As a friend of mine once told me, ‘all bad things come to an end,’ and it’s true- it’s just how you choose to get there that makes the difference.

Simple & Effective TRX Exercises

There’s a new video up on my YouTube channel and it’s showing all of my fave TRX exercises.

Don’t know what TRX is? TRX is a suspension trainer that uses body weight to give you an all over workout. Unlike most resistance machines, body weight exercising requires engagement of the core (rather than isolating particular muscles), therefore TRX is great for core training, as well as everywhere else!

If you haven’t come across TRX before, it’s not exactly obvious to know how to use them. That’s why I’ve brought you my top exercises for the core, arms, legs and bum. Check them out- along with full teaching points- by clicking right here.

Puma have launched what could be described as their most feminine shoe to date, and I got invited down to the launch event to check it out.

About the Event

Oh it was so cute. Pink, pink and more pink. Hidden in the heart of Shoreditch, th room was filled with helium balloons and fairy lights. There was Polaroid camera snapping, nail-painting, hair braiding, cocktails and donuts. Girls night in- but out!

Tigeress Lifestyle January Fitness Challenge

It’s back. The Tigeress Lifestyle January Fitness Challenge returns for it’s second debut, meaning that there will be a new blog post on site every single day in January! It’s hard work, I tell you now, but the response last time was phenomenal and I have an inkling that 2017 may top last year’s results.

You may be wondering why I’m telling you this so early on. Mainly so that you can get excited about all of the fitness tips and trends that will be filling your inbox and so that you can spread the word of course.
