Today marks the launch of Puma‘s collaboration with hip hop entrepreneur Lola Plaku (@iluvlola). An inspiring collaboration that fits well with Puma’s ‘Do You’ attitude and female empowerment values.
Lola, who is well-known for her behind-the-scenes work across the hip hop industry- she is part of French Montana’s management team and has worked with The Weeknd, Drake and other huge artists to help give them industry-visibility in the early days of their careers- has her own marketing and artist development company, Lola Media Group. After fighting for her place in the world of hip hop, Plaku has managed to earn her way to the top and now, via her new mentoring programme, Girl Connected, wants to help other women to do the same. The mentorship programme aims to connect aspiring females with Plaku’s own successful industry colleagues to help them learn the ins and outs of the business. Impressive.
Who doesn’t love a woman who supports other women?! Puma definitely do.
The pack, fittingly called GRL PWR, is made up of two colourways; Black- Surf the Web and Peach Bud- Pearl Blush. Described by Puma, the GRL PWR woman is a ‘natural trendsetter, who embraces her feminine side while still valuing the comfort and street style swag that compliments her active lifestyle.’ With a 90’s inspired silhouette and GRL PWR lettering running across the tongue, the trainer has clearly been designed by Lola with a lot of thought and attention to detail.
I personally think that the pack is super cute. The silhouette is perfectly on trend and with a black or pink option, there is something to suit everyone. Usually a fan of an all-black look, I actually prefer the pink option from this collection. You can see which pair you like best for yourself below.
Available to buy at PUMA.com (RRP £88) and in selected stores worldwide, this is a trainer not to be missed. Click right here to shop.
