Facial Skincare SOS!

Has winter taken it’s toll on your skin? It’s common for your skin to feel more dull, look a little more tired and be all-round less glowy during the cold winter months than it is over the summertime.  Well, don’t worry- I’m here to help!

Being a little tomboy as a child and with the nature of my job, I’ve always tended not to wear much make-up. Meaning that on a day-to-day basis, my skin is often completely bare. I prefer it that way, but it does mean that when winter hits and I no longer have my summer bronze to do the job, I need to look even more so towards my skincare routine to keep my skin glowing. I am obsessed with moisturising (I moisturise my face three times per day and body at least once, sometimes twice), so it’s no surprise that I’ve trialled a fair few products. Here are my fave ones to give your skin that much needed boost!

Dr Roebuck’s Hydrating Repair Creme

dr roebucks new

I am a HUGE fan of Dr Roebucks and use this cream as an intensive night mask when my skin is needing some extra TLC. Since starting to use this three nights per week I’ve had comments from makeup artists on jobs saying how my skin feels more hydrated than when working with them previously- and that’s the experts talking!

Using minimum ingredients, Dr Roebuck’s products are even great for sensitive skin. I’m also a massive fan of their hydrating serum, which I prefer to use for a lighter dewy hydration boost during the day.

Nivea Hand, Face & Body

Good old Nivea doing the job right. This is my go-to moisturiser during the day and is absolutely perfect for travelling, as it’s available in travel-size tubes. What’s more, it’s a good one to use absolutely everywhere- your hands, face and body! Fab for a weekend get-away where you don’t want to pack one million beauty products.

P.S. People always get concerned when I recommend this that it’s going to be too thick to use on the face. It’s surprisingly light and I’ve found that this is also a nice one for sensitive skin.

Clinique Moisture Surge

Wow, just wow. Super lightweight and cooling, great for morning and night and it absorbs so quickly that you can apply make-up straight after application! This really does hydrate the skin easily and effectively. 100% recommend!

Burt’s Bees Intense Hydration Night Cream

This is a newer one for me, but I’ve had great results already. I’ve been using this for around a month now and my skin has felt silky soft after each use. I like to use it as a lighter alternative to my Dr Roebuck’s night creme. It’s also 99% natural.

Olay Everyday Light Sunshine Cream

olay

I miss my tan! But do not fear, Olay is here! This is a tinted moisturiser that actually works. No streaks, just a flawless glow. I’ve started using this again until I see some sunshine and my skin already feels like it looks a little more awake. This doesn’t provide an intense tan, but it does add a little colour, so keeps you looking nice and natural- like a day at the beach!

That’s it for my facial moisturisers but I’ll be back with my best products for lips and body soon, so keep your eyes (and inboxes) on the look out for those!
