The No-Excuse Home Workout Video!

My YouTube fitness channel launched yesterday with an exercise video that is sure to work your core. It’s also one that leaves you with no excuses to miss another workout ever again… Sorry!

The Water Bottle Workout can be done at home, outdoors, in the gym- even at work if you fancy- and requires only yourself and a 2l water bottle! Cheap, effective and convenient!

3 (Exercise Ball) Steps to a Toned Tum!

The most common question that I get asked is what I do to work out, so it only makes sense that I start showing you guys right here! Here’s a cheeky little insight into some of the exercises that I use to help work my tummy… Don’t forget to keep your abs tight and make sure all movement is being driven from them. I’m definitely going to make this a regular feature, however if there’s anything particular that you would like to see (bum, legs, arms or more tum?) then let me know below and I’ll get filming! Happy toning! x

 

P.S. Abs are built 80% on diet, so if you’re not seeing results it’s probably time to look at what you’re eating.

Hello, Again!

Hello Tigers,

It’s been a while and I must apologise for my time away. The past few weeks have been super busy for me (a few days in Morocco with New Balance, lots and lots and lots of work at ASOS HQ, a trip to the tropical island of Cyprus and of course, a good few work outs in between)! But I am back and raring to fill your feeds with fitness, fashion and health goodness once again, in the usual Tigeress style.

For me, Cyprus involved ten days of amazing company, yummy food, beach runs, belly laughing until my eyes were watering and abs felt like I’d just hit the sit ups, more food, surf waves, jungle shoots, sun lounging and last but not least, a whole lot of cheeky cocktails. Oh, and did I mention food? Doing my favourite things with some of my favourite people- heaven!

Now I’m back in the crazy city of London and although I was beyond excited to catch up with all of my UK friends, the fact was that I couldn’t face another rich meal or alcoholic beverage. My body had quite simply had enough. But what do you do in the city to socialise that doesn’t involve food and/or drink? Hmmm… good question!

Unfortunately, in modern culture, the main forms of entertainment involve binge drinking and over indulging. True, no? But things are about to change as exercise and health become the new ways to catch up with your bestie. People are realising that they don’t have to sacrifice health to have fun. I strongly believe in balance and I’m not saying to ditch the drink or abandon eating out entirely, but next time you’re planning on meeting up with friends, why not try a goss whilst running in the park or over a smoothie at the local juice bar?

What did I decide to do to catch up with the girls on my return? Roller disco! More belly laughing, fab company, a whole lot of fun, exercising without even realising it and no hangover the next day… Looking after your body is quickly becoming the new way to be happy, and what better way to do so that with friends by your side! It’s time to get your health on, tigers and I’m here to help you out along the way! xx

One Minute to a Healthier You

Who knows somebody who just simply ‘doesn’t have time to exercise’? Or perhaps that’s you? If you’re an offender of using that line before then I suggest that you close your eyes now because research from a recent Canadian study has just blown that excuse right out of the water.

Accordingly to the findings, it only takes one minute of exercise per week to improve your fitness! 20 seconds of sprinting three times per week, improved fat-burning ability in just six weeks.

I love exercise way too much to only exercise for one minute per week, but it’s good to know that if I’m super hectic and my usual exercise routine is taking a back seat, that I just need to get my sprint on! Perhaps that dreaded dash for the bus is actually a small fitness blessing in disguise? xx

Victoria’s Real Secret: Boxing

With the recent Victoria’s Secret show hitting London, all eyes were on those ridiculously lean legs, to-die-for abs and fabulously toned arms. Bodies that many girls would give their right arm, leg and make-up bag for (I mean who really needs make-up anyway when you have a body like that)! But just how do those flawless ladies get their bodies? The answer… boxing!

Everybody knows what boxing is, but it’s not exactly a sport that we participated in at school. In fact, I imagine that it was rather frowned upon. But boxing has quickly become the way to get fit fast. Victoria’s Secret models Lily Aldridge, Adriana Lima and Kelly Gale have all revealed boxing as their number one workout! If it’s good enough for the Victoria’s Secrets girls, then I definitely want to give it a try. So I did.

Going to boxing gym Gymbox, I had plenty of choice as to what kind of boxing I’d want to do. I decided on Thai boxing, as I have quite a lot of leg strength so thought this would work to my advantage. My initial thoughts were ‘how hard can this really be?’ Punch a few bags, throw a few kicks. But it was way harder than I expected. I’d worked up a sweat in no time and was working practically every muscle, including ones that I hadn’t used much before (or at all).

The truth is, that these beautifully fit women actually train hard to build and maintain their bodies! Whatever your ideal body would be, you need to work for it and that’s exactly what these ladies do. Boxing is intense but fun and even after a super hard session you’re eager to get back in the ring! When I gave it a go, there was a combination of men and women training together, all encouraging each other to push harder. It was great and there was a real sense of group bonding!

If you want to get fit, toned, have a full-body workout and have fun, then boxing is definitely the way to go. 

So Victoria, you’d better watch out. We know your secret and we’re coming for you! xx
