Puma Velvet Rope Collection

Puma have taken a nod towards the red carpet with their new Velvet Rope collection. Hence the name, the pack takes inspiration from the velvet rope that would typically be seen at high profile events. The idea being that we can step beyond the velvet rope and into the spotlights and fierce world that lies behind it. It’s workout gear with a fashion edge and deserves a place in any activewear wardrobe.

The pack has recently launched on ASOS and I was lucky enough to get involved in the campaign wearing the ever so comfortable Active Training Explosive Bodysuit. Check out a snippet of it below…

Velvet Rope comprises of a variety of footwear and apparel, all adopting an olive, black and gold colour scheme. If like me you wear your gym kit to more than just the gym then I’d say that you will love this range. Here are a few of my faves…

Autumn Sportswear Picks

Autumn is upon us, meaning shorter, colder days and for a lot of us, less motivation to get active. If there’s one thing that’s going to get us in the mood for moving, that’s brand new activewear… right?!

I’ve said it before and will say it again, if you feel great in your sportswear then you’re more likely to workout harder, or at all. So just in time for the colder season, I’ve picked out my top sportswear buys that may be just what you need for that little extra push.

Lorna Jane Activewear

I am a teeny-weeny bit obsessed with activewear brand Lorna Jane; an Australian-born gymwear brand promoting ‘Active Living’. Similarly to Tigeress, they believe in fitness and health as a lifestyle, with an aim to empower women to lead such healthy lives. But it’s not only their vision that’s got me swooning. The clothes are ahhh-mazing too!

High quality, comfortable, super flattering as well as looking great, there’s not really much more that you could ask for from your gym kit. There’s a range of styles and shapes to suit a variety of tastes and body sizes. My fave is the Cobra set, as worn below. I’ve never had a sports bra fit quite like it- fully supportive whilst somehow managing to enhance my tiny assets. I felt both womanly and ready for business (a.k.a. my spin class) as soon as I stepped into it.

Now I haven’t tried every item from the collection and with so much to choose from I doubt that I ever will, however I’m impressed from what I’ve seen so far and am eager to purchase my next piece! You can shop the collection by clicking right here and if you’re UK based you can always swing by the Covent Garden flagship store. Let me know what you think! xx

Zara Sport

I’d heard that Zara have been selling sportswear for a little while now, yet strangely I’ve only just properly checked it out. Perhaps it was my crazy saving scheme that seems to have been taking place all year, avoiding shops at all costs, or simply that I have sportswear coming out of my ears so really shouldn’t be buying any more- who am I kidding, you can NEVER have enough sportswear! Anyway, whatever the reason, I’m late. Admittedly poor behaviour for a fitness blogger and I’m not sure that I should be pointing this out to you all, but I feel that it’s worth it if it means that I can direct any other poor soul that has been missing out into the sporty Zara light!

It’s fabulous! It really is and is amazingly affordable. Sure, it doesn’t have the technology that Nike or New Balance may hold, but it’s fashion and will do a damn good job of making you look and feel great in the gym, on your run in the park or when you fancy a sporty look for your day off. Consisting of basic mix and match items, Zara have hit the nail right on the head. Check it out for yourself right here or see my favourite pieces below… x
