As part of their sponsorship of the 2019 Virgin London Money Marathon, New Balance are about to open doors to their brand new pub, The Runaway and the press night went down a treat. Guests were greeted with a free bar (yippee!) and pie and mash (hello!) as well as numerous activities to keep us entertained throughout the eve. Now, I know what you’re thinking… a sportswear brand opening a pub? Sounds a little odd, no? Well, this is a pub with a twist and here’s why…
With the London Marathon in full steam last weekend, it got a fair few of us thinking that we might just want to head out for a run, make running a more regular part of our routines or even… run a marathon. Well, whatever impact the marathon had on you, here are my top tips on how to get into running when you’re not already a runner!
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again. Never did I think that I would actually run a half marathon. Growing up as a sprinter and jumper, long distance running was never on my to-do list. In fact, it wasn’t until I was at university that I ran the furthest that I’d ever run- 5km! Looking back now, oh how far I’ve come.
This month I ran my first ever half marathon- The Vitality Big Half. Here’s how I got on…
The Big Half Marathon takes place this Sunday 4th March with participants running 13.1 miles across London. I think we’re all hoping that it will warm up a little before the big day however we won’t be letting minus degrees stop us!
I may be running the race but I need your help if I’m to have any effect on my chosen charity. Any donations are much appreciated and really will be going to an amazing cause that will affect the lives of many teens suffering from a cancer. If you’d like to help out you can donate by clicking here.
Let’s do this!! xx
