Everybody loves a Secret Santa. That is until you’re stuck with what on earth to buy! If you drew the name of a fitness or health gal then I’m here to help out with a few of my own suggestions. They’re all within Secret Santa budget of course!
The days are shorter, nights longer and we’re starting to crave those good old stodgy home cooked meals… Well, I have something that will brighten up your mornings and satisfy your hot food needs- Pink Wholegrain Berry Porridge!
Not only is it warm, delicious, and looks fab, it will actually keep you full until lunch time and is one of your five a day (as well as being super healthy in itself). Made with a variety of summer berries- think raspberries, blueberries, cherries and cranberries- and whole rolled organic oats, this is one healthy meal to make any cold winter morning more enjoyable. Here’s the recipe below…
1 Handful of Frozen Berries
150-200ml of Milk
100g of Organic Whole Rolled Porridge Oats (click here- these ones are particularly good and not too pricey)
A Drizzle of Honey- optional!
Add oats, berries and 150ml of milk into a pan.
Heat on low-med temperature for 5 minutes, stirring throughout until at preferred consistency and ensuring that the berries are warm. Add more milk midway if required.
Serve into your favourite bowl and add a little honey if you fancy!
Finding a cosmetic (or even edible) product on the high street that has absolutely no chemicals, preservatives or artificial alterations can prove to be pretty difficult, if not near-impossible! In fact, I’d not come across a skincare brand that only stocks all natural products until I was gifted a little tub of Sister & Co. lip tonic from a good friend for my birthday and did a little digging into the brand.
Beginning with organic cold pressed raw coconut oil, Sister & Co. now provide a whole collection of skin care products made with unprocessed raw superfoods. Although the products don’t last as long as the chemically enhanced ones that we see in the skincare market, which can last around three whole years (Sister & Co. up to one year), they are produced in small batches every twelve weeks and sent straight to market so are guaranteed to be fresh.
The range includes body scrubs, creams, hair drinks and lip tonics and they even have special products for men, mothers and babies. My Raw Coconut Lip Tonic With Rose Otto and Cardamom feels heavenly and I don’t have to worry that my skin is absorbing any nasty chemicals! A little pricey for a lip balm at £9, I would definitely say that it’s worth it- a natural conditioner to extensively hydrate your lips. See more from Sister & Co. right here.
With holiday season in full swing, it’s vital that we keep our skin healthy and moisturised. Daily moisturising is key- I opt for day and night- as well as plenty of water of course! But when it comes to layering my skin with the thirst-quenching good stuff, my number one go-to moisturiser is Vita Coco Coconut Oil and I am OBSESSED!
It’s not every day you can say that you can eat your moisturiser. Well with Vita Coco you can. It’s natural, raw and organic, meaning no nasty chemicals to get in the way. It’s also cold pressed therefore packed with all of it’s original goodness. It will keep your skin soft, hydrated and is my now not-so-secret way of maintaining my holiday glow throughout summer and beyond. Simply apply to your body (I would avoid adding to your face, as it’s a little… oily) wait to dry and you’re good to go. It’s especially great to wear before bed and if you want to give your feet some TLC just layer up the coconut oil, slip on your socks and dream the night away. You’ll wake up feeling silky smooth!
Available in 500ml or 750ml tubs for £9.99 and £14.50 respectively. You only need to use a tiny amount so one tub can last months! x
I’m hopping on a plane today (yippeee) for a special shoot in the sun, which means that it’s important for my skin to be looking the best that it can. Not only that, but I really don’t want to be peeling as soon as I arrive home. The best way to soften, smooth and prep my skin for the sun? Body scrub!
Yesterday was a huge rush and when I came to scrub I realised that I didn’t actually have any to hand. There was little time to go to the shops so I decided to use a little DIY and it actually turned out to be rather great (and really easy)…
If you’ve seen my homemade cocktail video (feel free to click right here if not) you’ll know that I’m no DIY pro. Yet, as disasterous as the process usually is, the results tend to be pretty good! There were no mishaps here, even with my track record and it was as simple as one, two, scrub!
All you need to do is…
1. Grab a dollop of raw coconut oil and a proportionate amount of Himalayan sea salt- a tea spoon should be enough.
2. Mix together.
3. Apply to skin and rub in circular motions.
4. Rinse off.
Your skin will be left smooth, flake free and super soft. You can even feel the coconut oil working its moisturising magic for a couple of hours after getting out of the shower! A natural body scrub that your skin will thank you for.
Give it a go and let me know what you think! x
